Geography

We believe that geography helps to raise questions and provide answers about the natural and human aspects of the world. Children are encouraged to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of our planet, as well as their place in it.

Our geography curriculum enables children to develop knowledge and skills that are transferable to other curriculum areas such as their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Geography helps children to make sense of the world around them, and piques their curiosity in places and people. It engages our pupils, often spurring them into action as future custodians of our planet!

Inquiry-based learning

Geography is taught during the Explore term, which is a time full of adventure and excitement. Our curriculum is designed to instil in pupils a curiosity of the world which will remain with them for the rest of their lives, equipping them for further education and beyond.

They acquire new knowledge and skills whilst working independently and together, as well as develop the resilience and passion to create their own projects. We teach them how to take pride in the process it took to get there, not just the result.

During our Explore term, Braywick students become intrepid explorers ready to take on the world they live in!
