Music
Our music curriculum is developed to nurture and enhance the individuality of each child. Music gives our pupils a link between school and the world around them, bringing our community together though shared experiences. Music should spark a child’s imagination, providing them with opportunities to explore and challenges to tackle. Music at Braywick Court ignites a life time of passion for every child.
Our music curriculum is designed to help pupils recognise themselves as musical and to nurture a lifelong love of music. Our scheme of learning develops the skills, knowledge, and understanding needed to become confident performers, composers, and listeners. The curriculum introduces pupils to music from across the world, encouraging respect and appreciation for the music of all traditions and communities.
Pupils build musical skills through singing, playing tuned and untuned instruments, improvising, composing and listening and responding to music. They develop an understanding of the historical and cultural context of the music they encounter and learn how music can be notated.
Music Enrichment
Music education is part of every child’s world of possibility, regardless of their background or starting point.
We are proud to have a partnership with Berkshire Music Trust to offer insutrumental tuition. Pupils across our school can learn a range of instruments such as drums, guitar, piano and violin.
We offer further musical enrichment through annual projects such as In2Music, where a whole class learn a new tuned instrument and work towards an end of term performance.

We are also delighted to offer a partnership with RockSteady Music School who offer weekly in school band lessons which inspire confidence, creativity, individuality and fun! Each band performs in a RockSteady concert every term.

Performance
From class assemblies and festive nativities to school choirs and whole school concerts, every child at Braywick Court is given regular opportunities to step onto the stage and share their music with a live audience.
Stepping into the spotlight is a transformative experience that builds deep self-belief, resilience, and personal pride. Performing encourages children to step outside their comfort zones, discover their unique creative voice, and experience the pure joy of shared accomplishment.
These live performance opportunities ensure that every pupil, regardless of starting point, develops a lasting confidence that shines both on stage and throughout their wider education.
